Not gonna lie, I usually enjoy Dan’s suffering but this is too much. I think this is the first time I see him enjoying anything from Stradania besides Eve (because let’s face it, he doesn’t *enjoy* drugs). Is this Dan’s dad work?
Don’t forget overpriced foreign cigarettes and industrial music. Dan seems to enjoy those well enough.
Ouch Lin. That really twists the knife.
Pft, and the building is even typical Euro. Classic base with weird modern shit on top. And they’re demolishing it. Good ‘ol Stradania stayin’ on brand. Of course.
It is reference to Khrushchev (yeah, sweet Slavic phonetics!) thaw and avant-garde art exhibition. Building suspiciously resembles Pushkin S.M.G.A. in Moscow
That was actually one of my refs! (except I tried to reimagine it in a more brutalist style…) -cryo
Spent half of my childhood there, mostly in an basement lecture hall. Lead glass pendants on a chandelier tinkled every time metro train passed underneath. (also Laocoön replica is still my favorite showpiece after my 2 years working as cable guy)
In two blocks towards Kremlin was one of the first public internet-cafe with fiber uplink (10M for free, floppy in a second!).
